Moms Survival Guide: 10 Activities To Do with A Toddler in Orange County

It’s finally getting warm so it’s the perfect time to get out and explore our beautiful SoCal parks and activities. I have selected my top 10 things to do with an active toddler. You can go crazy staying all day at home with a toddler, so check these out and go on a new adventure. Trust me, your little one will thank you 😀

1. Baby beach and ocean institute trip

We love baby beach. It’s somewhat secluded, has nice sand and is great for little ones. The water is perfect for them to splash in and it has parking right in front of it. We often times go before or after to Ocean institute. It’s open during the week from 10:00am to 4:00pm. It has a variety of sea animals there to look at. For more info click here.

2. Orange County Great Park

This Park offers a carousel, workshops, entertainment, a coveted playground and, of course, a ride up in the air on a giant, orange balloon. Make sure to check the hours before you go. The balloon and carousel aren’t open every day. Additionally, the farm and food lab is a unique and interactive outdoor classroom for visitors of all ages, featuring themed raised-bed gardens, fruit trees, vertical gardening, a worm compost bin, and solar and wind-powered lights. Visitors can experience the Pizza and Spaghetti Garden, Butterfly Garden and chicken coop, or take classes on pickling and canning. Also, every Sunday from 10-2 there is a Certified Farmers Market. Every week, the Great Park Certified Farmers Market features fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, handcrafted artisan products, and a selection of gourmet food trucks. Each animal exhibit features a small display with interesting facts about the animals. Also, there is a train ride, paddle board and bike rentals. The zoo is open Weekdays 10:00 am – 3:30 pm and on the Weekend: 10:00 am – 4:30 pm. Admission is $2.00 PER PERSOn and CHILDREN 2 AND YOUNGER ENTER FREE!

The pool is only 18 inches deep with a beach style entry that is perfect for smaller children. The pool is located at 26281 O’Neil Drive.
